Coaches Pat Sheahan and Jabari Arthur both acknowledged the tremendous contribution of Tyson. “Tyson was a sensational player in every aspect of the game for us. He was a great receiver, great ball carrier, and outstanding blocker. He (Tyson) is one of the best I have coached in 40 years of post-secondary football,” stated Sheahan who serves as the team’s Offensive Coordinator.
Arthur, who is the team’s receiving coach states, “Tyson is a rare breed of football player with a great mind and feel for the game along with exceptional attributes.”
Tyson was ranked 15th in initial Canadian Football League 2022 draft ranking announced in September 2021.
Tyson becomes the first University of Calgary receiver to be a finalist for the Hec Crighton Trophy since Don Blair accomplished the feat in 1995 and became the school’s second Hec Crighton Trophy recipient.
