DINOS FOOTBALL COACHES CONDUCT CLINICS IN SOUTHERN ALBERTA

Members of the University of Calgary Dinos football coaching staff continue to spread their knowledge and promote football throughout Southern Alberta.
After a successful coaching clinic in Kelowna earlier this year, the Dinos coaching staff will be conduct similar clinics in Lethbridge and Medicine Hat this coming weekend. The camp in Kelowna had 94 participants from Grades 9 through 11 with 35 coaches in attendance at the clinic.
Head Coach Wayne Harris and his staff will not only have a clinics for coaches at the High School and community levels, but also conduct on field clinics for aspiring youth players in the two Southern Alberta communities.
Joining Harris at the clinics will be Defensive Coordinator Matt Berry, who recently returned to Calgary after serving as a Guest Coach with the Canadian Football League Saskatchewan Roughriders, Offensive Coordinator Jabari Arthur, Receivers Coach Alex Vertullo, Special Teams Coordinator Nathan Mollard, and Tanner Hamade. Also assisting are former University of Calgary players Adam Blasetti, Anthony Woodson, and David Swagger.
The Dinos will conduct a free Coaches Clinic at Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Friday evening (May 27) for coaches from the Lethbridge area that includes Raymond, Cardston, Coaldale, etc. Saturday there will be a two-part camp. One camp will be a non-contact camp for players in Grades 7-8 and another will be a full contact camp for players in Grades 9 through 11, both at LCI. So far 110 players have registered for the two camps that is being coordinated by Pat Leahy of LCI.
Saturday the Dinos will move on to Medicine Hat, AB., for another two-part camp at Crescent Heights High School that is being coordinated by Sean Davis and former University of Calgary fullback Anthony Anderson. So far 80 players have registered for the camp in Medicine Hat.
“These development camps are for the football communities in Southern Alberta. The goal is to build relationships with the football community in these areas with the coaching clinic also being a big part,” states Mollard.
